The Steady Home™ · 1:1 ADHD Parent Coaching

Practical Support | Real Strategies | Someone in Your Corner

Personalized, one-on-one coaching for parents of kids with ADHD who are done reading and ready for a plan that actually fits their family.

A no-pressure call to see if we’re the right fit. No commitment.

If a psychologist, evaluator, or education advocate pointed you here, welcome. You’re in exactly the right place.

For the overwhelmed parent

Here's the Truth

The diagnosis explained a lot.

It didn’t tell you what to do on Tuesday morning.

You finally have answers.
And somehow, more questions than ever.

The homework battles. The meltdowns that come out of nowhere. The mornings that fall apart before the bus even comes.

You’ve read the books. You’ve joined the groups. You’ve tried the sticker charts.

And still, at the end of a hard day, you’re lying awake thinking…

“Am I doing this right?”

You don’t need more information.

You need someone who knows your child, knows your family, and helps you figure out what to actually do — this week, in your house, with your kid.

Imagine Feeling Steady Again…

…knowing exactly how to handle the morning routine.

…having strategies that work for your child, not a generic list.

…walking into the next school meeting prepared instead of anxious.

…seeing fewer meltdowns and more moments that feel like progress.

…knowing you have someone to call when the hard days hit.

Small changes create meaningful progress.

And calm, confident parents raise kids who feel safe enough to grow.

Introducing The Steady Home™

This is my most personal, hands-on way to work with a family.

The Parent Support™ course and membership hand you the tools and the strategies to work through at your own pace and for many families, that’s exactly enough.

One-on-one coaching is different.

It’s not a video you watch. It’s a partnership.

When we work together one-on-one, your family isn’t part of an audience.

You’re the whole focus.

Who This Is For

✔️ Your child has recently been diagnosed with ADHD and you’re not sure where to start

✔️ You’re exhausted by the homework fights, the routines that never stick, and the emotional roller coaster

✔️ You’ve read the books and tried the tips, but nothing seems to hold in real life

✔️ You have a school meeting, IEP, or 504 coming up and you want to walk in prepared (or want a referral to an advocate)

✔️ You want strategies built for your child, not one-size-fits-all advice

✔️ You’re ready for practical support and someone who’s genuinely in your corner

This probably isn’t the right fit if you’re only looking for quick tips to work through on your own and that’s okay. My Parent Support™ library is a wonderful place to start.

What we’ll actually work on

Practical, Real-Life Support

No theory for theory’s sake. We work on what’s happening in your home right now:

✔️ Routines that stick — mornings, homework, bedtime, and the transitions in between

✔️ Fewer meltdowns — understanding the triggers and responding in a way that calms instead of escalates

✔️ Executive function — helping your child with focus, organization, time, and follow-through (without doing it all for them)

✔️ Independence and responsibility — building skills that grow with your child

✔️ The whole family — protecting your own sanity, easing sibling strain, and getting you and your partner on the same page

You bring the real situations. We build the plan together, and adjust it as life happens.

How it works

The Steady Home Method™

A simple, personalized path — every step built around your child, not a fixed curriculum.

1. See.
We start with a conversation.

You tell me where things stand and what’s hardest right now, and together we look past the label to understand your actual child. I’ll also tell you honestly whether one-on-one coaching is the right next step and if it isn’t, I’ll point you somewhere better.

2. Set.
We build your plan, the routines, systems, and school strategies calibrated to your child and your home. No copy-paste checklists. This one is yours.

3. Support.
Through regular one-on-one sessions, we put the plan into action, troubleshoot the hard days, and adjust as your child grows. I stay available as your steady sounding board in between.

4. Sustain.
You carry it forward with confidence. Fewer fires to put out. More moments that feel good. A parent who feels capable again.

What makes it different

Why One-on-One Matters

There is no shortage of ADHD advice online. The problem is that generic advice rarely survives contact with a real Tuesday night in a real home.

A course gives you the map. One-on-one coaching gives you a guide who walks the trail with you — someone who knows your child by name, remembers what you tried last week, and helps you decide what to do next.

That’s the difference between information and support. And when you’re in the thick of it, support is what actually changes your days.

For our referral partners

Referred Here by Your Child’s Psychologist or Advocate?

If a psychologist, evaluator, or education advocate sent you my way, thank you for trusting them — and for being here.

A diagnosis or evaluation answers the what. My work begins with the now what — the everyday, practical follow-through at home that a clinical setting isn’t designed to provide.

I don’t diagnose, treat, or replace the professionals on your child’s team. I complement them. I take the strategies and recommendations you’ve been given and help you actually live them out at home, so the support your child receives in an office doesn’t stop at your front door.

Are you a psychologist or advocate who’d like to refer families? Get in touch — I’d love to be a reliable landing place for the overwhelmed parents you meet.

Testimonials

What parents say

Chris, parent of a 10-year-old

“The customized approach was life changing for our homework battles. The advice on school accommodations for less homework was one part, but the customized motivation approaches that we would rotate through has cut down our homework struggles by a lot, which makes our evenings as a family so much more enjoyable”

Tracy, parent of a 12-year-old

“Working with Dr. Katrin has made our mornings so much calmer. We now have practical strategies that actually work for our child, and I no longer feel like I’m constantly reminding, rushing, or second-guessing myself. I feel more confident as a parent and I’m enjoying our time together again.”

Meet Your Instructor

Hi, I'm Dr. Katrin Kusek.

Before I was a coach, I was a parent, sitting exactly where you may be right now.

I’ve spent nearly 18 years in education, with a master’s and a doctorate in the field. I know executive function, learning, and school systems from the inside. And even with all of that training, when my own family hit a challenge I hadn’t planned for, I still found myself wondering whether I was doing enough.

That’s what taught me the thing I see in every family I work with: the hardest part isn’t understanding the diagnosis. It’s the daily follow-through — the mornings, the homework, the meltdowns, the meetings — when the professionals have gone home and it’s just you and your child.

That’s the gap I help families close.

To go deeper into ADHD specifically, I completed specialized ADHD coach training through MentorCoach — an ICF- and PAAC-accredited ADHD coaching program — including its full course sequence on coaching children, teens, and parents affected by ADHD.

FAQ section

Frequently asked questions

You've got questions. We've got answers.

How much does it cost?

Because every family’s situation is different, we talk through the details together on our first call — once we know it’s a fit and exactly what you need. Book a consultation and we’ll cover everything.

Is this therapy?

No. I’m a coach, not a therapist or clinician. I don’t diagnose or treat ADHD — I help you with the practical, day-to-day parenting strategies and systems that make life at home work better. Coaching sits alongside your child’s clinical care, never in place of it.

What’s your training in ADHD?

I hold a master’s and a doctorate in education, and I’ve completed specialized ADHD coach training through MentorCoach — an ICF- and PAAC-accredited ADHD coaching program — including its full sequence on coaching children, teens, and parents affected by ADHD. My focus is practical, evidence-informed parent coaching, always alongside your child’s clinical team.

Do you work with my child, or with me?

Primarily with you, the parent — because you’re the one who’s there every day. When it makes sense, we can talk about how to involve your child, but the biggest, most lasting changes usually start with you.

My child was just diagnosed. Is it too early for this?

Not at all. The weeks right after a diagnosis are often the most overwhelming — and the best time to put practical support in place before old patterns dig in.

How is this different from your [Parent Support™ course]?

The course and membership give you my full library of tools to work through at your own pace. One-on-one coaching is fully personalized, hands-on, and built entirely around your child and your family — the difference between a guidebook and a personal guide.

How do I get started?
